“Specific Word from God on Healing”
E. Michal Gayer
“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs)

God has spoken specific things concerning divine healing which are important to know and understand if we are to receive fully from God. All the way back in history to the time when Moses brought the Children of Israel out of Egypt and crossed over the Red Sea into the wilderness, God has revealed Himself as Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals you. This light shed by God onto the dark pathway of sickness and disease is extremely important. It is God letting people know, by speaking His truth to them, that forever He is their healing God.
The Bible extensively records other numerous healing revelations and promises of God emphasizing the magnitude of God’s will concerning healing. Observe that Psalm 145:9 says, “The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” And Psalm 84:11 adds this, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” We know sickness is bad and healing is good. No good thing will God withhold because God is good and He gives good things. God does not withhold healing. He desires to heal our sicknesses.
Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us to, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases…” God forgives and God heals. These are some of the benefits of God to people. Exodus 23:25 commands, “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” This awesome promise of God to take sickness away from the centermost part of our being couples with Psalm 107:20 which states, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” All of these promises, and many similar ones, are worthy of our trust because they come from God who is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord our physician.
All of the words God has spoken are power-filled containers of His truth. When God’s truth is embraced and applied in our lives, it accomplishes what God said it would accomplish. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that, “The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Jesus also said that the words He speaks, are “spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
Proverbs 4:20-22 gives these instructions specific to healing. It reads, “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” The words of God are health and life to all who find them and who keep them in the midst of their heart. Once anchored there, the Word of God is capable of producing life and health in the body and in the mind. It is the basis of every healing and every miracle.
Listen further to the instructions of Proverbs 4:23-27, which reads, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.” The Word of God has been sent forth so that we may ponder the path of our feet and set our course on the way that God has established for us to follow. If we will do that, and if we will pay attention to God’s Word by keeping it ever before us in our mind and in our heart, it will lead into healing, health and every blessing Jesus died to provide for us. Knowing and applying the Word of God into our lives is crucial if we are to receive healing and live in good health.
