It is fascinating to follow the life of Jesus, as expressed in the Gospel accounts, and see the progression of how Jesus entered into ministry and kept on moving relentlessly forward to reveal and fulfill the will of God. His attitude and actions toward sick people speak profoundly concerning God’s will for healing. When sick people came to Jesus, the plain truth of the Word of God shows that He consistently and dynamically healed the sick! As a matter of fact, Matthew 12:15 says that when a great multitude followed Him, “…he healed them all.”

This healing of “all” is also noted in Luke 6:19, which reads, “And the whole multitude sought to touch Him for power went out from Him and healed them all.” Luke 4:40 makes this statement, “When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.” Matthew 9:35 further describes this by stating, “Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”

Jesus healed “all” and “everyone” who came to Him and he healed “every” sickness and “every” disease. No sickness was too difficult or too far-gone. Jesus healed all who came to him in believing faith. There was only one instance in the Bible where Jesus found Himself limited and that took place in Nazareth. There the people’s unbelief was so great that the Bible record in Mark 6:1-6 describes it as follows: Jesus, “came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief.” The unbelief or absence of faith was so great among these people that Jesus could do “no mighty work there.” He healed a few sick folks and would have healed more, but the unbelief of the people became a barrier to their receiving from Him.

Most people know that God heals some people but a lot of people do not know that the Bible reveals that it is God’s will to heal “all” and that each and everyone of us are candidates to be healed by God because we are in that category of “all.” Thank God He is not a respecter of persons and is willing to relate to each of us through the promises found in His Word. This is some of the very best news we could ever receive.
